Community Youth Sports- Registration Information

Registration is now underway in many communities for the Fall Season of Recreational Youth Sports. Recreational youth sports provide opportunities for Registration information is listed by sport and then alphabetically by community. As this is always a list in progress, If you know of information not listed here, please let us know. 

Basketball 

Carbondale JR Dawgs League 
Registration begins Wednesday, October 11th- Friday, December 29, 2017
NO Late Registration 
Fee: $31.25 for non Residents/ $20 for Jackson County Residents 

Skills Clinic 
The clinic is designed to develop the fundamental skills of shooting, offensive techniques, ball handling, and passing. Participants will work on ball handling skills, drills, and techniques needed to master and navigate the court. Drills will focus on ball control, coordination and swiftness. Instructor will focus heavily on instilling the fundamentals of shooting the ball, including perfecting proper shooting form, shot preparation, shooting off the dribble, and situational shooting. Ages: 8 – 12 years. Dates: October 2-6 Days: Monday - Friday Times: 5:00 – 6:00 pm Location: LIFE Center East Parking Lot

T- Ball Clinc Carbondale 
Learn the basics of baseball/softball in a fun and non-competitive environment. This program teaches participants the fundamentals including fielding (grounders and flies), throwing and catching, running bases, playing various positions, and hitting. Children need to wear closed shoes that they can easily run in; no flipflops, sandals, or clogs. 
Ages: 4 – 7 years Dates: September 6-25 Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays Times: 5:00 – 6:00 pm Location: Superblock Field # 5

Skills Clinic 
This clinic introduces children to soccer by helping them become familiar with moving with the ball at their feet and developing coordination and balance. A perfect program for kids who are brand new to soccer! Each class, kids participate in a variety of age appropriate activities that will get them excited about playing soccer while interacting with other youth to become more confident in a group environment. Children need to wear closed shoes that they can easily run in; no flip-flops, sandals, or clogs.
