Franklin County Rend Lake Rend Lake’s beach, located in the South Sandusky Day Use area, invites water recreationists of all ages. South Sandusky Beach is located on the west side of the lake, just off Rend City Road. The former North Marcum Beach is no longer a designated beach area. Instead it is a Boat-in Rest Area. Both are managed and maintained by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Children ages 10 – 17 do not have to be accompanied by an adult, but must provide verifiable emergency contact information to the front desk prior to entering the facility. The beach of the 80-acre lake is open from May through August and includes a concessionaire with snacks and cold drinks for beach-goers. The area also features fishing, bicycling, hiking, horseback riding and camping.
