The Carbondale Warming Center provides temporary overnight shelter to people who are homeless in Carbondale, Illinois. The Warming Center at 608 E. College Street will be open 8:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. beginning December 1, 2019.  We encourage people to continue to use and support our local shelters, Good Samaritan House (for everyone) 618-457-5794, and the Women's Center (for domestic violence survivors). The Warming Center is a supplement to their services.

Homeless Services

Southern Illinois Homeless Coalition
 801 N. Market, Marion, Il. 
Provides HUD transitional housing and permanent housing for adults with disabilities with supportive services in Williamson and Jackson Counties. Services are provided at home visits and at group meetings every other month.SICH also provides an opportunity for low and very low income families to buy a home in 9 counties through the "Homeless to Homeowner" Program. Opportunities for housing are open to all sub-populations, including ex-felons and persons living with HIV/AIDS. Please contact us also for referrals to all other housing programs and services in our 24 county service area.
