The 15th Annual Southern Illinois Chili Cook-Off will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Marion Elks #800. This year the theme is "Tailgate" (please remember this is a family-friendly event when choosing your tent theme)
We would love to have you as a sponsor, volunteer, team or someone who would love to donate items for our Silent Auction. We won't even turn you down if you decide to do all of the above!
Sponsors of $250 or more receive a free chili team. Let us know if you are interested in participating in this amazing event this year!
All proceeds remain local in our communities. Our charities are:
1. Fowler Bonan Foundation
2. Williamson County Heartland Rotary
3. The Lighthouse Shelter
4. Marion Elks Community Projects (Kozy Kids)
Purchase and arm band when you arrive and you can sample all of the chili. With purchase, you also get to vote for the "People's Choice" team.
Arm bands are $10 for adults and $5 for children.

University Farms,
SIU Sustainability Office, SIU Student Sustainable Farm, Jackson County Health Department, and Green Earth Inc have partnered to host the first Southern Illinois Pumpkin Smash Event! Help Compost More Pumpkins - Get Involved!
When: Saturday, November 0yj h 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Where: SIU Farms Service Center, 2704 Union Hill Rd, Carbondale, IL 62903
What: Pumpkin drop-off and some hands-on pumpkin-smashing activities will be offered in this fun and family-friendly event! The resulting pumpkin remains will be hauled off to SIU’s Forced Air Composting Facility on Pleasant Hill Road and kept out of the landfill.
This is a family-friendly event! Bring your pumpkins and dress for outdoor fun and play!
This event is rain or shine. Please dress for the weather!

Autumnfest Craft Fair- John A Logan College
John A. Logan College will host the annual Autumnfest Arts & Crafts Show on Saturday, November 11th from 9 am-4 pm and Sunday, November 12th from 10 am-4 pm. There will be over 120 original arts and crafts exhibitors, food, and entertainment.
The Annual AutumnFest is a juried event with over 120 exhibitors of handcrafted arts, crafts, and specialty foods. It is held on the second full weekend of each November. Start shopping for the perfect gift on your holiday shopping list!
