The Cape Girardeau Parks & Recreation Department hosts the Haunted Hall of Horror at the A. C. Brase Arena every October. This haunted house will take you on a long, dark journey through the nooks and crannies of the A. C. Brase Arena. Those who enter should be prepared for endless mazes full of creepy clowns, 3D Freak Show, an asylum, dolls that come alive, and so much more! All ages are invited, but kids 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Glow sticks available for $1/each.

Murder Mystery Theater Fundraiser for the Laundry Project and Disaster Relief Fund

Will Intrepid Inspector Iona and her stalwart sidekick Dr. Bob solve the mystery of the missing First Folio before the villainous villain makes a clean getaway? Doors open at 6:15 pm for desserts and beverages in Fellowship Hall before the 7:00 pm curtain. Donations accepted to support the Carbondale Laundry Project and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA). This performance will also be livestreamed via Zoom (868 6900 9586)

Two lonely teenagers find solace in their favorite show, The Pink Opaque, which leads them on a path of self-discovery. I Saw the TV Glow is Jane Schoenberg’s dreamy trip through nostalgia and memory, analyzing our relationship to television and the ways it defines our identity.

Our fall family fun festival returns! Haunted Hollow is the perfect mix of laughs and gasps, a Halloween-themed event with both spooky fun and safe, family-friendly activities. Costumes are encouraged, and the event will happen rain or shine, so dress for the weather and bring your fall spirit! Touch of Nature is wheelchair- and stroller-accessible, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Location: SIU's Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center

Ticket Information: Haunted Hollow features a mix of free activities and ticketed attractions (just like a carnival!). Tickets are $1 each, and different attractions require different numbers of tickets. You can buy them throughout the day at the ticket booth. Just a heads-up: tickets are non-refundable, so we recommend buying as needed rather than in bulk. Ticket sales end at 3 PM

We’re shutting down the strip again- this time for the Carbondale Halloween Homecoming Music Street Festival! 🥳👻🐾🎶🙌
We are combining two of the best Carbondale traditions, Carbondale Halloween and SIU Homecoming, and we’re celebrating in full Carbondale style by shutting down the iconic Strip for an unforgettable night of music, food, and family-friendly fun, on Friday, October 24, from 3-10 PM.
Presented by Hangar 9, City of Carbondale, SIU Alumni Association, Carbondale Main Street, Student Programming Council, Koerner Distributing, & River Radio, this music street festival will feature two stages, showcasing high-energy bands, turning the heart of downtown into one massive concert venue. The festival atmosphere will spill across the Strip with local vendors, food trucks, carnival games, the Candy Walk, a costume contest, and even the rock-climbing wall from SIU’s Touch of Nature!
We’re so excited to finally share the talent we have lined up for the biggest music street festival Carbondale has ever seen!
