Kindermusik
Kindermusik is an award-winning system for newborns through age seven and their parents. In a Kindermusik class, educators lead a group of parents and their children through activities, using music and movement, that nurture skills in the whole child: cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and language.
Klassics 4 Kids
Strollers welcome! A free concert series designed to expose youngsters (and their parents), from birth through preschool, to live classical music and jazz. Concerts are held on various Tuesdays in Altgeld Hall, Rm. 112 at 10:00am throughout the year. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council.

The SIU Suzuki School offers comprehensive musical training in violin, viola, cello, guitar, and piano for all ages using the Suzuki method. Flexible tuition packages are designed to meet the musical needs of every student. Instrumental technique, note reading, music theory, history, and interpretation are incorporated into a combination of private and group lessons.
Frequent performance opportunities are provided for students on campus throughout the region
Southern Illinois Children's Choir
The Southern Illinois Children's Choir program, now in its second decade, is open to singers in grades 3 through 9. The organization is made up of two auditioned treble ensembles: the Apprentices, which is a training choir, and the Choristers, which is a more advanced group. The Director is Alice Berry. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council
