The Great Pumpkin Smash
University Farms,
SIU Sustainability Office, SIU Student Sustainable Farm, Jackson County Health Department, and Green Earth Inc have partnered to host the first Southern Illinois Pumpkin Smash Event! Help Compost More Pumpkins - Get Involved!
When: Saturday, November 4th 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Where: SIU Farms Service Center, 2704 Union Hill Rd, Carbondale, IL 62903
What: Pumpkin drop-off and some hands-on pumpkin-smashing activities will be offered in this fun and family-friendly event! The resulting pumpkin remains will be hauled off to SIU’s Forced Air Composting Facility on Pleasant Hill Road and kept out of the landfill.
This is a family-friendly event! Bring your pumpkins and dress for outdoor fun and play!
This event is rain or shine. Please dress for the weather!

The biggest event on SIC's campus returns this fall.
This is a great opportunity to knock out some early holiday shopping and support local and small businesses with unique, artistic, and hand-crafted wares.

Admission to shop is a $1 suggested donation to benefit Freddie's Food Pantry for food insecure students.

8TH ANNUAL HARVEST MOON BALLCome support a great cause at the 8th Annual Harvest Moon Masquerade Ball on Friday, November 10th. Enjoy great food, live music, a silent auction, and help support your local child advocacy centers.
This is a joint fundraiser for the Perry-Jackson Child Advocacy Center and the Franklin Williamson Child Advocacy Center.
The Masquerade Ball will be held at Legends at Walker’s Bluff with a formal dinner, music, and silent auction. Tickets are $50 and must be pre-purchased.
Business casual or formal attire and bring your masquerade mask if you would like!
Both organizations are not-for-profit agencies that serve children from birth through age 18 who have been victims of child sexual abuse and/or serious physical abuse. Their mission is to provide a child-friendly setting to conduct forensic interviews of child victims and provide the family with support services throughout the abuse investigation. They both work in a multidisciplinary team environment to produce the best outcome for the child victim and their family.

7pm: Formal Dinner Buffet with music
8:00pm -11pm: DJ, Drinks, Socializing, Dancing & More

ohn A. Logan College will host the 47th annual Autumnfest Arts & Crafts Show on Saturday, November 11th from 9 am-4 pm and Sunday, November 12th from 10 am-4 pm. There will be over 120 original arts and crafts exhibitors, food, and entertainment.
The Annual AutumnFest is a juried event with over 120 exhibitors of handcrafted arts, crafts, and specialty foods. It is held on the second full weekend of each November. Start shopping for the perfect gift on your holiday shopping list!
