A Native American Indian festival is planned for Solar Eclipse weekend. The event is located at Little Grassy United Methodist Camp , eight miles south of Carbondale. Activitiies start at noon Saturday, August 19th and continue to 11 a.m. Monday, August 21. The Eclipse at Bald Knob Cross of Peace-

Folks looking for the perfect place to view the August eclipse you still have the chance to watch it from a southern Illinois landmark.
Officials at Bald Knob Cross has begun selling tickets for the eclipse. Bald Knob Mountain is the highest point in our area at 1,034 feet. The cost is $50 for a spot, shuttle ride to the cross, eclipse glasses and more. They are also offering a $250 option to get a marked-off 100-foot square area to set up telescopes and camera equipment.
