Parent's love the Open Gym Fridays at Ultimate Gymnastics in Carbondale. They have three different ones scheduled. During the day, children ages six and under can attend one of the two Toddler-PreK Play Days- The morning session runs from 9:30 am- 11:00 am and the afternoon session goes from 12:30 pm - 2:00pm For just $5 children have an opportunity get used to a gymnastics environment, explore and learn motor development skills, and for parents to meet and play with others. From 7pm-9 pm, Ultimate holds Open Gym for children ages 4-12 . Cost is $7 per person and for two hours kids can play on our trampolines, rock wall, balance beams, uneven bars, giant inflatables and much more!!

Saturday activities start early. For those who love to shop there is a flea market in Energy, Farmer's Market in Carbondale, Live Local Saturday in Carterville and Craft and Vendor Fair in Mulkeytown.
Kids in Carmi can dress as their favorite Superhero for a special "Super Hero Breakfast" presented by the Carmi Women’s Charity Club (formerly Beta Nu) on Saturday, March 4th from 9:00-11:00 am at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 203 Edgwood Drive, Carmi, IL. Price is $10 per child at the door. Age 2 and under free. Adult OPTIONAL Buffet, $10. What could be more fun than Dressing as their favorite Superhero Kids can have a posed picture taken saving the city with your favorite superhero … play games … complete an obstacle course … have their face painted … enter their name for a chance to win a raffle AND enjoy a delicious breakfast.
Art and Science take center stage among the day's activities with a FREE 1st All Species Puppet Making Workshop from 10:00 am- 2:00 pm in Carbondale . Sponsored by Carbondale Main Street the workshop is being held in preparation for the All Species Puppet Parade for the community Earth Day Celebration on April 22nd.
Young scientist will love St Patrick's Day Science with Alpha Chi Omega students at the Science Center at University Mall in Carbondale (near Macys). They promise an afternoon of fun hands-on experiments with SIU's professional chemistry fraternity. Experiments will be set up from 12:00 - 3:00 pm, or while supplies last. Come for some or all of the event!Program is included in admission cost, $5/per person, children 2 and under are free, TSC members are always free.
Looking for something a little more laid back. There is always the Saturday Story Hour and Lego Batman Movie Event at Barnes and Noble, a FREE family movie at the Pinckneyville Library at 1:00pm ( bring a hat for cancer patients for entry) and FREE family movie nights in the evening in both Carbondale and West Frankfort.
