Finding things to keep the kids occupied during summer break can be tough. You can only go to the playground so many times. Thanks to two different movie chains, kids can go to the movies this summer without breaking your family's bank.
AMC Theaters will be sponsoring Classic Summer Movie Camps at their theaters in Carbondale, and Mt Vernon. These theaters sponsor family friendly movies on Monday and Wednesday mornings beginning June 5th through August 2nd. The movies will begin at 10am . Children's tickets cost $4 plus tax and include a kids pack which includes popcorn, drink and fruit snacks. The film schedule includes. The Lorax ( June 5-7); Trollw (June 12-14); The Secret Life of Pets (June 19-21); How to Train a Drago (June 26-28), Pup Star (July 3-5), Sing (July 10-12); Home (July 17-19); Despicable Me ( July 24-26) and The Peanuts Movie (July 31-August 2). Parents should use their own discretion in determining whether a movie is appropriate for his/her child.
Showplace Cinemas are sponsoring a $1.00 Family Film Festival every Tuesday morning at their theater in Harrisburg. The Family Film Festival has been taking place for the past few years and gives family’s the opportunity to see older, family-friendly films on the cheap. This year’s eight week run begins on June 6th, with movies beginning at 9:30 am. This summer's movie schedule includes Angry Birds ( June 6th) ; Kung Foo Pands (June 13th) Ice Age ( June 20); Trolls (June 27 ); The WildLife ( on Wed July 5 due to Fourth of July holiday); Storks (July 11th) The Secret life of Pets (July 18th); and Sing (July 25th ). The Showplace Cinemas’ concessions stands will offer Kid’s Tray special each week which includes a kid’s popcorn, and drink for only $2.50!
