Vienna Annual Junque Jamboree-Vienna
One the square in Vienna
The Johnson County Junque Jamboree will be held on the historic Johnson County Courthouse square in Vienna on Saturday Sept. 16. For over four years this event has been going on and people come from miles away to look for a treasure. This event is free and open to the public. Sales will begin at 7 a.m. and will continue through mid afternoon.
Over 140 vendors will be set up around the public square selling antiques, primitives, signs, crafts, and other items.
These vendors come from throughout the tri-state region and bring a lot of merchandise.
The antiques shops and malls in Vienna will be open for this event also.

The 3rd annual Heartland Pet Fest is a PET-FRIENDLY event that brings together people and businesses that love pets. The event is interactive with an agility course for attendees to test agility ablility, a costume contest, and wiener races. In addition, we are planning educational programs on nutrition for your pets. Vendors will be present to show off their pet-friendly, -themed, -related products. Kunstfest- New Harmony Indiana
t's time for the 35th annual Kunstfest Festival in New Harmony, Indiana! This celebration of German heritage and art is one of the biggest of its kind in Indiana.
The New Harmony Business Associates invite you to the walkable village of New Harmony, Indiana on Saturday, September 16th and Sunday, September 17th for the 35th annual Kunstfest. This free, family-friendly event is fun for all ages!
“Kunst” means “art” in German, and you can expect to see a lot of it. Artists from across the region will sell and showcase their creations. With so many unique pieces, you’re sure to find something you’ll love!
Over 250 vendors will line the streets, showcasing art, gifts, antiques, crafts, and more on Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 9am-4pm. Many of the local storefronts will also be open with special promotions during the festival. Be sure to come hungry! All of your German favorites will be there—bratwurst, kraut balls, kuchen, apple cider, chicken and dumplings, German potato salad, brain sandwiches, fried bologna, ice cream, kettle corn and more!
Events include musical performances from the Dulcimer & Polka, Blue Grass, and German Folk Music genres, Music on the Patio, Liar’s Contest at the Murphy Auditorium, children’s activities at the family stage at Maclure Square, and more!
Something you can’t miss at Kunstfest is the historical craft demonstrations. Each year, children stand in awe as they watch experts demonstrate blacksmithing, rope making, pottery, weaving, spinning and more. Some of these creations will be available for sale, and demonstrators will be present to explain the art of each craft to audiences.
Don’t worry about having to park far away from the festival! Parking will be available at the New Harmony School and Atheneum with shuttles taking visitors to and from the festival.

The Celtic Fair will feature two outdoor stages both days, with performances by Saint Louis-area Irish and Scottish groups like The Wee Heavies, The Brianna Brown Band, Buckley & Walsh, and Celtica, along with Southern Illinois Celtic bands The Dorians and Roisín Dubh, and the local ensemble Heart Strings. The Sunday lineup also includes some popular regional Americana bands. The Festival includes food and drink for sale, merchandise vendors, Scottish Highland Games, bouncy houses for children, an Irish children’s village, piper Sean Folsom, Magic Storyteller Chris McBrien, and Liam the Extra-Large Leprechaun.

The festival takes place at the Little Lake Park in Grand Rivers, near I-24, Exit 31.
What You Will Find
The event features original and handcrafted items from almost 100 crafters and artisans from 10 states. Examples of items for sale include floral arrangements, baskets, lawn furniture, paintings, honey, soaps, lotions, jewelry, quilts, woodwork, holiday decorations, pottery, candles, gourds, stained glass, birdhouses, rocking chairs, rocking horses, weather vanes, and much more. Visitors can also enjoy a wide variety of delicious carnival food and regional specialties while at the festival.
The cost is $1 per individual at the walk- in gate or $5 per vehicle parking inside the park.

CACHE RIVER DAYS (ULLIN)
The 2017 Cache River Days celebration is planned Sept. 7-10 in Ullin. The event celebrates the Cache River Watershed in Southern Illinois. As part of this year’s event, Nature Fest activities are planned on Friday evening and Saturday. Nature Fest is slated to include a night hike on Friday. The many creatures of the Cache River Wetlands will be featured on Saturday. Guided nature hikes and free canoe tours of the wetlands also are planned on Saturday. Many other programs and activities are planned in the Village of Ullin. The schedule includes a community worship and fellowship service, a queen pageant, a softball tournament, tours of the Ullin depot and much more.

There is no admission charge for the event or parking fees. Our Food court will open up at 12:00 noon, and we invite everyone to come out after church and enjoy lunch and dinner on the grounds from our various vendors who are all donating the total proceeds to benefit the Herrin House of Hope. We keep the prices family-friendly, while also donating all the proceeds to feed those in need through the House of Hope. The main stage program will get started at 12:30p.m. this year with the national anthem, presentation of the colors and an opening prayer, and then we will have a variety of music all throughout the afternoon on our main stage. There is also an incredible silent auction and cake walk that is always a blast and raises great funds for the House of Hope. The year as always will feature a Children’s Fun Zone and Adult activities throughout the day. These activities will include children’s games, pony rides, bounce houses and so much more for the kids.
