OCTOBER 13TH

          Witches Brew
Sherry Norfolk will be storytelling to different brews on this day.  "Baby Brew" -spooky silly tales for kids!  6:30pm to 7:15pm.  This is for ages 8 and under.  Gates will open at 5:30.  "Witches Brew" - haunting tales for older kids & adults starting at 7:30pm to 8:15pm. This is for ages 9 through adult.  Admission is $5.00 a person.  Kids (12 and under) in costume are free!! Storytelling:  behind the Mitchell House at Cedarhurst.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket (in case of rain, the event will be in the Performance Hall).  Free popcorn and apple cider refreshments!

Blackcat BBQ Showdown, Flea Martet & Fall Fest
The Village and Goreville School's Fall Fest have joined forces for one BIG Fall Event. Chili Supper, BBQ Cook-off, Flea Market, Kids' & Teen Cook-off, Hay Rides, Games, Parade and LOTS LOTS More!!!
Proceeds will go to the Goreville Village Park, Goreville Marching Band, Goreville F.F.A. Chapter
And other Goreville School's Groups/Clubs.  Event will begin 5:00pm - 8:30pm.

Bicycle ride offering tour lengths of 15 to 100 miles.

Pre-registration begins on May 1 and ends on October 7, 2018.  All pre-registrants will receive a complimentary T-shirt in their registration packets.  You may register online or by mail.

    11am- 6pm each day  Each fall, vultures fly over Makanda and the surrounding areas and signal the beginning of fall and the arrival of the incredible fall colors of Makanda and southern Illinois.           Benton Fall Festival:

4-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, Benton Square. This year's Fall Festival is set to be a spooktacular event! So, dress up in your  favorite costume and come join in the fun! Festivities around the Square from 4-7 p.m. include laser tag on the lawn of the  Courthouse, a mega balloon drop from our new aerial fire truck, Trunk or Treat, costume contests, music, fall decor and more!   We've also got the West City smoke house on hand, food vendors, face painting and a photo booth planned for the evening! If you're up for a little scare, Pate's Funeral Home is hosting a hayride, with a route going right past the old cemetary and  down to the "haunted" park, organized by BATS Inc. When the Square reopens at 8 p.m., everyone is invited down to the ballfields for a spooky movie showing on the big screen! The entire evening is packed full of fun for the whole family! We hope to scare you there!

 ​The community is invited to the annual Fall Fest at First Christian Church, University Avenue at Monroe Street in Carbondale, Saturday October 27. Beginning at 3:00pm, browse a selection of craft items and collectibles, Al Parr’s Campus Lake photos and calendars, and bid on special items in a silent auction. Award-winning singer-songwriter Wil Maring and virtuoso guitarist and fiddler Robert Bowlin will be in concert in the sanctuary at 4:00pm. An old-fashioned chicken-&-dumplings dinner will be held from 5 until 6:30, with take-out available.  Tickets are $10 ($5 for children 5-12), and     admission to the concert will be included in the price of the dinner ticket.  Children under 5 eat free.  Concert admission only  will be $5.00. Please call 521-0613 for dinner reservations, concert tickets, or for more information.  Proceeds from this event  will benefit the ministry and mission of First Christian Church.

Centralia will hold its 91st Annual Halloween Parade and Fall Festival. The theme this year is "ANIMALS BRING HAPPINESS". The Fall Festival is located in downtown Centralia and will begin at 9:00 A.M.. It features a Craft Fair at the Centralia Recreation Complex, free children’s games and activities, best dressed pet contest, chili cook-off, car show, downtown merchants, traveling vendors, flea market, local entertainment and dance groups and, of course, delicious food. At 11:00 A.M. will be the Children’s Halloween Parade, where children of all ages can dress in their Halloween costumes and walk in the parade. Judging for the costume contest starts promptly at 10:30 A.M. at the Centralia Public Library Park located at 515 East Broadway. The 91st Annual Halloween Parade will begin at 7:00 P.M. and will follow the Poplar Street Route. Come and enjoy the marching bands, floats and many more attractions! Awards for the float and marching band winners are held immediately after the parade at the Carillon Park located at 114 North Elm Street. We encourage everyone to attend to see if their favorite band and float won.            Fall Carnvial 2018
Whiteash Freewill Baptist Church, 13337 Rt 37, Marion
Saturday, Oct 27 starting at 3pm
Come join us in a day of fun!  We have games, candy and food will be provided.  There will also be kettle corn, baked items and other goodies. Kids are welcome to dress up in their costumes while they fill their buckets and bags with candy.  This day is free to everyone.  We will accepting donation  for a local food pantry - canned goods or monetary, if you would like to help.

            Haunted Forest Hayride & Trick or Treat Event
Join us for the 2nd Camp Ondessonk Haunted Forest Hayride and Trick or Treat Event. Friday, October 26th from 8-10pm and Saturday, October 27th from 6-10pm. Admission will be $5 per person, no charge for kids 3 and under.
Climb aboard if you dare and disappear into the depths of the Shawnee National Forest. ​Fall Festival- First Baptist Church
The annual Fall Festival at First Baptist Church of Herrin will be 5pm - 7pm. This event will take place around the pavilion and the little house on our church property. We will have lots of stuff for the kids to do, including trunk or treat, inflatable fun, face painting, hayride, hot dogs , chili & chips for dinner. Admission is free for everyone. Come and enjoy an ​evening of family fun for all!​​

October 31st
  • Harrisburg
Little Chapel Church, 3859 Highway 34N, Harrisburg will be having Fall Festival 2018 from 6pm - 8pm.  It will be a great night of fun:  Carnival Games, Hayrides, Inflatable for children (ages 2 & up), Tasty Fall Treats, Face Painting, Chili Cookoff, Barrel Rides
