Tour lighted displays throughout the fairgrounds. Drive through open every night beginning November 29th through December 30th . Closed Christmas Day. The exhibition hall will be open the first three weekends in December. from 6pm - 9 pm. Visit Santa & Mrs. Claus, hourly give-aways, Free train rides for the kids, model train display, food & craft vendors, kids' corner winter carnival, and beautiful holiday displays. West Frankfort's Candy Cane Lane A southern Illinois holiday favorite is back on display in West Frankfort Candy Cane Lane opened last weekend, a week earlier than previous years. You can drive through and enjoy the lights and Christmas displays seven days a week from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. For a special treat, the chamber of commerce is offering free carriage rides through Candy Cane Lane during the second and third weekends of December.

Join Old Town Cape, Inc. for the 28th Annual Downtown Christmas Parade of Lights, scheduled for Sunday, December 1, 2019! The parade will begin promptly at dusk (5:00 p.m.), and the theme for 2019 is Christmas Lights & Winter Nights.
The parade will begin at the intersection of Broadway Street and West End Boulevard (Capaha Park entrance), continue East down Broadway Street toward the river, will then turn right onto Main Street, and will end at 43 S. Main (Art Van Furniture parking lot).

Jefferson County Historical Society
The Jefferson County Historical Society will hold a Children’s Christmas Party for children age 5 and up. Children will make Christmas crafts and snacks and play Christmas-themed games. The cost is $5.00 per child. Pre-registration is required. To register, call the JCHS office at 618-246-0033. Space is limited to 15 children.
- West Frankfort- RESCHEDULED FROM EARLIER DATE DUE TO WEATHER
The Annual Fantasy of Light's Parade will kick off in the parking lot of St. John the Baptist Catholic School on East Main Street, at DUSK and will travel west down Main to Strand Park in downtown West Frankfort, on November 26th The parade is followed by an old-fashioned Downtown Tree Lighting Ceremony led by the West Frankfort Mayor and City Council. Come join us for an old-fashioned tree lighting downtown, following the lights parade. We will be introducing our new, enormous tree to the community complete with carolers, music activated light show and pictures with Santa.

The first Friday in December, downtown businesses open their doors to provide endless options for memory making with families. From visits with Santa, hot cider, hot chocolate, chilli, hot dogs, ornament making, candy land trail, and letters to Santa to carriage rides, live entertainment and more, the downtown streets buzz with excitement. Carolers, kettle corn, cookies, christmas trees and wreaths help bring people together to celebrate the season. There is also a Christmas Market for those looking for something special for their loved ones. Mark your calendars for the Downtown Christmas in Carterville, it is something you don’t want to miss!
Join us Friday, December 6th for the Murphysboro Hometown Christmas 3rd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Town Center Park (next to Sallie Logan Library.) There will be food, music, carriage rides, hot cocoa, popcorn and more! Kids crafts will be available at no charge in the youth center building as well. Santa's cottage will be open for pictures with the children! Bring your phone or camera for photos! There will be a drop-off for the Key Club Toy/Coat/Food Drive. In the spirit of giving, please consider giving/donating to this great cause! They are asking for new or gently used toys and children's coats (not adults), and canned food.
Marion Rotary Club presents the 2019 Christmas Dinner Concert. 6pm-9pm. Kokopelli Golf Club. This fundraiser benefits the Wildcat Way Fund for Marion Community Unit School District #2.
The 2019 Festival of Lights will be our traditional Christmas on the Square, but it will also serve as a commemorative farewell to the Franklin County Courthouse. We hope to make the 2019 Festival of Lights a memorable event, and one for the whole family will enjoy and hold close for a lifetime!
The special evening will include the dazzling lighting of the Square, Santa's arrival and a chance to tell him what you want for Christmas, professional pictures with Santa - taken by Jonathon Walters, horse drawn carriage rides, free hot chocolate and goodies, photo booths/props and more!
The entire event kicks off at 5 p.m. around the Capitol Park area. This year, Santa will join Mayor Fred Kondritz at 5:30 p.m., for the formal welcoming on the stage of Capitol Park, then start the countdown for the lighting of the Square. We will have more lights than ever this year, and special guests will join us with their beautiful decorations on the inside of the Square.
After the lighting of the Square, a brass quartet will join us to share beloved Christmas classics in Capitol Park, while radio station, WISH 98.9, will be on the Square with a live remote and playing Christmas music.
Please join us, as a community, as we celebrate this precious holiday.

The Old Feed Store will be having great Arts and Craft vendors, _ Chair Massage and Reflexology, for tips optional, food, drinks and cookies from the Women of the Cobden Presbyterian Church.
The Old Feed Store will be the Starting point for Ray Hogan’s Free Hay Rides throughout the afternoon, Carolers leave The Old Feed Store at 1pm to bring to the Community Christmas Cheer.
St Joseph’s Catholic Church on Centennial and Ash St. plans to have an Art Exhibit, Paintings by the Late Father Fredericks and refreshments.
The Union County Historical and Genealogy Society, on Appleknocker and Ash St. plan to have a free Exhibit of “Bears and Chairs".
A Live Nativity Display by the Cobden Baptist Church will be on display at the corner of Maple and Appleknocker.
Cobden School Band will play in the Downtown Park prior to lighting the Christmas tree at 4 pm.

Every year the Harrisburg Township Park District hosts the annual Candy Cane Hunt at the Kiwanis Shelter in the park. This event is free to those who attend. Everyone enjoys this event and it is well attended. Park Board members and Staff meet early that morning and hide the candy canes throughout the park. Santa Clause will be there to greet the children as they arrive and for photos.

MARION, IL – The City of Marion would like to announce a Downtown Christmas to be held on Saturday and Sunday, December 14th and 15th around the historic Tower Square from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day. The festivities will include ice skating, carriage rides, food vendors, classic Christmas music, and, of course, Santa Claus. In addition, the various shops and restaurants around the Square will also be open.
“This is a unique opportunity to highlight the natural beauty of our downtown area during a special time of year,” said Mayor Mike Absher. He continued, “We have so many great businesses downtown that we want to encourage folks to patronize, so what better way to support shopping local than bringing people here and having some fun while we’re at it.”
No taxpayer funds were used in bringing this event to Marion, and funds raised from this year’s event will go to support the event next year. The event is weather- permitting and there will be fees of $10 for adults and $5 for children for ice skating which includes the skate rental, and $10 per family for carriage rides. The food vendors will also be for a fee

The Massiac Marines will be a part of "The Olde Tyme Christmas" at the Visitors Center. They will show how a traditional Christmas might have been for the French soldier or villager in 1759. There will be music, refreshments and decorations at the visitor’s center.
